We Discovered the Internet Cafe!

There is an Internet Cafe near our hotel and it is MUCH cheaper to use their computer than the one at the hotel so I can blog more often. We did not have any official adoption business today so we took the day at our own pace. Abigail and Shane fell asleep watching the Fox and the Hound last night. They are just too cute sitting in the chair together watching t.v. They almost look like twins. She slept all night and woke up around 6:30 a.m. I now know why the nannies always had her hair up. It is wild! It falls in her face constantly and it is wavy. She looks gorgeous with it down but she is constantly having to pull it off of her face. I started on her daily laxatives and the first 3 hours of the day were spent with her cleaning out. I don't know these children survive so backed up. We went for a walk around 10:30 a.m. The streets are not as crowded as Hohhot was and we do not receive the "strong" stares that we received there. Abigail decided that she did not want me to push her stroller and when we got back to the room, she decided that she did not want to be taken out of the stroller or to have her coat taken off. I won the battle but she ended up throwing a 40 minute temper tantrum which resulted in her falling asleep on the floor. I am attaching a picture of her that I took while she was sleeping on the floor. She awoke about 1 1/2 hours later and has been in a great mood since. We went for a second walk and bought snacks for the room. Have I mentioned that she eats constantly? I don't know how we are going to afford to feed her and Shane! She and Shane played in the room for several hours and I just love to sit back and watch them play. She is the leader and Shane has found his match. She will take things from him and he doesn't take them back. She bit him earlier and he cried. That got her in time out and I wish you could have seen the look on her face. She laughs when she is happy and she likes to throw things. She is obviously testing the boundaries right now. Shane seems to adore her and won't even hit her back when she hits him. That is not like Shane at all as his cousins can attest to! He misses Nicholas and talks about him every day. Mandy is having a good time and is enjoying China. All in all the trip has been good. This adoption journey is very different than the one with Shane. Abigail is very smart and strong willed. She has lots of energy also! Bear with me on the pictures as when I upload them I am not always sure what ones I am uploading as I can't save them to the computer before I attach them to the post. We have a "free" day tomorrow also. The weather is suppose to be cooler at 49 degrees. Our room is hot so we have the window open but there is a lot of traffic noise. Please continue to pray for us. God has been very gracious to us.

Hooray for the Internet Cafe!! It sounds like your girl is going to keep you hopping as she learns what being in a family is all about.

I love to hear about Abigail and Shane together, it sounds much like our last spring's story of Teddi and Brogan. . . pretty much love at first sight! It's so much different than a new baby would be, because they are instant playmates. (Granted the new playmate doesn't always play fair, but they are so much fun!)

I'm happy to hear things are going well. Continued blessings on your journey. A warm Guangzhou is going to feel good, isn't it?

Praying. I am thrilled you were able to post. It is going to be wonderful for Shane and Abigail to have each other. I do wonder how long Shane's patience will endure - he sounds like such a sweetheart.

Hugs! Ashley

Enjoyed talking to you this morning and glad that this is a kinder, gentler area. Why is this first trip so hard. Boy - what hair!! It's going to be fun to comb everyday. Should I call Sherry? Wouldn't that really send the little princess into a fit!? The kids say "hello" and are excited to see Abigail. Of course, we all misss Bubba. Tell him we love him.

Boy didn't take long for that to wear off......as a mother of two girls with lots of hair I have one thing to say......I told you so!! Don't you just love sisters? Do miss you all give my Mandy and toot toot a hug for me!! Praying for you daily!!!
