The Hague Unit Finally Looked at Our File!

"Blessed be the LORD God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the LORD." I Chronicles 16:36

I don't know if it is because of my constant e-mails to the Hague Unit of the USCIS or it was just our turn but they finally reviewed our file last Saturday, August 9th. I received an e-mail on Tuesday stating that they had reviewed it was had sent us via mail a request for additional information/evidence. It arrived yesterday and was 3 pages long. Most of what they are asking for doesn't seem too difficult so hopefully in working with our social worker, we will get the requested information back to them quickly and assuming that they don't need additional information, they will approve our file so we can get our paperwork to China.

Jeremy is back at Liberty and it sounds like he is busy. Of course we miss him. It is extremely busy at work right now as we are down a staff members. I have to admit that my stress level is just a little high with all that has transpired this summer and the delays in the adoption. Drawing on the Lord for strength! Shiloh had surgery yesterday and is doing great. John Anthony and Melissa are back home in Idaho from vacationing with Melissa's mother and brother. I am including several pictures from their trip. It makes me long to take a trip to Oregon!

Mandy and Kelsey return to school next Wednesday. It is Mandy's senior year so it is a BIG one. I can tell that she is excited. This means that Shane and Nicholas will go to Susie's house on the days that I work. Six kids all day long!! It makes work seem like the easier option!

It appears that Abigail is having a great summer. New Day posts new pictures several times a week so I have trouble deciding which ones to put on the blog. She is busy swimming, participating in the New Day version of their Olympics and doing general fun things. She appears to be quite the little lady and I so long to bring her home.

I can't not mention Shane. Shane is his usual active and healthy self. He is all boy and keeps us on our toes. This summer has been filled with dentist appointments, dermatology appointments, urology appointments, etc. And after a couple of fillings, and one small procedure, it is determined that he is a healthy and growing little boy! He truly is incredibly smart and is very loving. He is also very strong willed and can be very stubborn. We wouldn't trade him for the world and he continues to bring must joy to our lives each and every day.

August is Here and Still No Word from USCIS

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him.......Psalms 37:7

I am going to have to commit this verse to memory. I have to admit that the wait for USCIS to review and eventually approve our I800 is starting to wear on me. We were fingerprinted last Wednesday, July 30th. All in all it went smoothly -even though we ran into road work on route 3 on our way to Alexandria, Va and I was very nervous about us being late for our 11:00 a.m. appointment. We got there about 11:05 a.m. and the visit took about an hour. We had a nice lunch on the way home and it was a good day. I e-mailed the Hague Unit this week to check status of our file and was informed that our file still had not been assigned to an Officer. It has been 69 days since we sent off our I800 and home study.

Jeremy returns to college on Saturday. I know he is looking forward to it but I am not. It does get easier each year but still hard to have him pack up and live somewhere else for 9 months. We will all miss him.
John and Melissa just wrapped up a week of vacation in Oregon and Seattle and I hope to have pictures of their vacation to post soon.

John took his parents to Jamestown, VA this past Saturday. Andy and Jeremy went along and they had an enjoyable day. Andy brought Shane and Nicholas back hats so I am including a picture of Shane with his new hat on. I am including one of Abigail enjoying the pool. She is having a great summer and I try to remember how blessed she and we are when I become impatient with the wait. I just want her home with us so badly.
