The weather turned cold in Virginia rather quickly! Two weeks ago we had Abigail's birthday celebration outside and yesterday we had to have Nicholas' birthday party inside
as it was too cold to have it outside. We celebrated at our house and it was a fun party! Nicholas has been eagerly awaiting the day when it would his turn to celebrate. For the past several weeks, he has been asking his mother every day, if "today is my birthday?". Sharon finally told him not to ask her ANYMORE if today was his birthday! He work up last Saturday morning and while brushing his teeth, he got an inquisitive look on his face and looked and his mother and said, "mom, am I any older today?" Talk about figuring how quickly that there is more than one way to ask a question! In addition to toys, clothes and other items, Nicholas received a new bike for his birthday and enjoyed riding it around for a little while before the darkness set in.

Before the party, Andy was outside in our yard digging up mulch and Abigail saw him from the living room window, she said, "Mama, Andy is outside. I like him. I am going outside". She went outside and starting helping him shovel mulch. They worked together for about 30 minutes. Andy is off on Friday's and she has been staying at their house while I am at work and she is bonding with him and is very fond of him.

On Friday, I traveled to Lynchburg for a trip for work and had the opportunity to have lunch with Jeremy and to visit his apartment before returning to the office. I wish I had brought my camera with me! Jeremy has to wear a suit for his Corporate Finance class and showed up for lunch at the restaurant in a suit and tie. I must say he sure was handsome! It was certainly the highlight of my week to spend an unexpected hour and a half with my 2nd son!

The EXCITING news for this week is that on Tuesday we fly to Boise, Idaho to visit John Anthony and his family. John will meet his granddaughter for the first time. It is hard to believe that John Anthony will meet his baby sister for the first time even though she has been with us for over 6 months. We are planning on bringing Luci back home with for us two weeks as John Anthony and Melissa are planning a visit to Virginia on November 7th. Everyone is excited about having us with us and we are holding our breaths fearing that her parents may change their minds and not send her with us. The next post will be us visiting with them!

Oh how wonderful! What a dream to have a tiny one in your house. Abigail is going to love playing mama! I have always loved hearing in your words how you truly adore your children - such a special family.
Have a wonderful trip!
