Abigail after a day of also testing her mother's patience.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Our church has "child" dedication on Sunday, May 23, 2010 . Baby dedication was the week before and I believe our Pastor had the child dedication with our family in mind as he knows we adopted Abigail when she was 3 1/2 years old and no longer a baby. We were one of two families that dedicated our children to the Lord. Jeremy and John attended the service and it always thrills my heart when all 4 of my children are at church with us.
Nicholas graduated Kindergarten on May 27th. John was at the beach with Shane and Abigail and his parents for one night so me, Jeremy and Luci represented the Shifflett family at the ceremony. During the ceremony which was held in the church sanctuary, Luci stood on the pew and "hi" to everyone she saw. It really was cute as she had just turned 10 months old that day and is already walking and now talking to folks. Nicholas was proud to be a graduate and announced to his father that he had graduated from school and did not have to go to school anymore. His mother had to remind him that he would be returning to school in the Fall.
Well, Summer has begun and my days at home are just not the same. Shane and Abigail are typical siblings and are generally doing one of two things - they are either fighting or up to some mischief together. I must confess that I am looking forward to Fall for more than one reason. First, I don't like heat and humidity and Virginia has lots of heat and humidity during the Summer months. I find that having to referee Shane and Abigail's arguments and/or pulling them out of some mischievous activity, along with the normal routine daily duties of house cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. wears me out. At the end of the day I find myself totally exhausted. Shane and Abigail was so "bad" one day that they wore themselves out! The pictures of them on this post is how I discovered them one afternoon after a particularly bad day. They had gotten unusually quiet which is normally a sign that they are doing something that they know they should not be doing so I went to check on them to find them asleep. They don't normally takes naps so I snapped pictures of them and showed them to their father when came home from work to show them they had actually worn themselves out!
