Luci standing in her crib waving.
Luci letting the world know that she is now 6 months old!"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33:3
I am starting to lose count of the number of snowfalls and when they happen. The last big one was the weekend of February 6th and then we had another storm 3 days later. We have been blessed with only losing our power for about 30 minutes. I know of some families in our area that has been without power for over 4 days. We had a pretty severe wind storm yesterday and I am sure more people lost power. We had blizzard like conditions in some areas and no snow was falling. It was blowing so hard that the roads were being covered from the snow that had already fallen before. ...but the forecast is bright and sunny for the next 6 days. Praise the Lord! The children have not gone to school in over a week and so Spring vacation is not looking promising for them right now. I ventured out with the boys on Saturday when it was still snowing. John and Kelsey shoveled snow while Nicholas, Shane and I played. Abigail was content to stay inside. She has not been feeling well even though she won't say so, I can tell that she is under the weather.
Shane and Abigail are such different and special children in each of their own ways. Shane is a morning child and wakes up with a smile on his face each day. He literally bounces out of the bed ready to take on the day. He also the first one asleep each night. Abigail is her best at night and I think she enjoys the little time she has alone with us when Shane has fallen asleep. She likes to sleep in until well after 9:00 a.m. and on the days that I have to wake her up earlier than that she normally starts the day off grumpy. Shane LOVES all foods. He is the easiest child to feed as he will eat practically anything you give him. He prefers "real" food over sweets. Abigail wakes up looking for cookies and other snack foods. Without fail, every day that I am home she asks me for a snack before she has her breakfast. The answer is always the same but she always asks. She also is somewhat of a picky eater. Shane loves the outdoors and even he is getting tired of the snow as it limits his play time outside. Abigail likes it but is just as content to be in the house. Abigail is definitely moodier than Shane! They both are somewhat assertive in that they are not shy with other children and will stand up for themselves and each other when the situation calls for it. They both are very affectionate children and hug readily. Abigail has actually come a long way with the bonding with our family. It certainly has been a different process than what we experienced with Shane. Each child is unique in their own way and we love them deeply.
On to news of Luci! If you have not figured it out by now, she has completely stolen my heart. I think of her as often as I do my own children - which is multiple times each day - including my two grown boys. I stalk John and Melissa's pages on Facebook looking for new pictures and videos of her. They know I do it so they are good about frequently uploading pictures of her. We usually Skype once a week and it is great to actually see them. She now has two teeth! She has been teething for some time now so it is great that they have broken through. She is now pulling herself up on anything nearby and is walking around her crib by holding on to the rails. She is a busy little girl! We had a small scare over the weekend as they were on the road and were rear ended by another driver. Praise the Lord that no one was hurt including the other driver. It would be so hard to have one of them injured or in the hospital and being so far away from us.
Spring is on it way and we are all looking forward it to it!

I hope that the snow stops soon Doris! My goodness!!
Your children and LUCI are all too adorable!!! I love how you wrote that Shane and Abagail are so different....my two are as different as night and day! :)
Hi Doris!
Now tell me....WHERE do you live again;-)??? I MUST be remembering wrong..LOL!! Look at all that white stuff....quite a different winter for you all, huh? You have more than we do way up here...honestly.
What a great update...and I LOVE your new header family picture.
having kids so different sure makes life interesting. Nathan and Owen are opposites in many ways. It's even hard to get them to agree on much...except when it comes to their love of sports. And Sophie, well I'm still getting used to having a girl and all that goes along with that;-).
Your little Luci is adorable! PTL no one was hurt in the accident.
Hugs,
Tami
Catching up with you friend! I missed your last update. I bet you are really ready for spring!
Loved reading about Shane and Abigail's personalities. God surely does make each of us unique, doesn't He?
I can't believe Luci is already six months old. She is so precious!
